Nearly a decade into their controversial marriage, Mary Kay Letourneau and her student-turned-husband Vili Fualaau are still going strong. The couple — who first got together when Letourneau was 34 and Fualaau was 13 — will mark their 10th wedding anniversary on May 20, and to celebrate, they sat down with Barbara Walters for an exclusive interview, set to air Friday, April 10, on 20/20.
According to a press release from ABC News, the headline-making pair will discuss everything from their marriage to their two teenage daughters, Audrey and Georgia, both of whom were born before their dad turned 16. Letourneau, now 53, also tells Walters about “her surprising plans to teach again, as well as her intentions to have status as a registered sex offender lifted.”
Fualaau, for his part, is said to open up about his battle with alcoholism and depression. Now 31, he “believes the system failed him while he was still a minor,” the press release states.

Letourneau was a married mother of four when she was caught having a sexual affair with Fualaau, then a student in her Seattle-area sixth grade class. She served more than seven years in prison for their relationship, after which Fualaau (21 at the time of her release in 2004) requested that the no-contact order between them be lifted.
The two married the next year. “The truth is, I never really had anything as deep as I have with Mary,” Fualaau told Larry King in 2006. “Every other relationship, I was always, like, thinking about her.”
